Ibrahima Diokhane has been making drums since childhood in his native Senegal, Africa. He began selling his drums on the streets of New York in 1986, in the East Village and Brooklyn. In 1998, he opened Keur Djembe in Brooklyn, and has been offering the highest quality drums and percussion ever since. He has spent a lifetime mastering authentic methods and using his knowledge to make the finest drums. His commitment to quality and satisfaction has made him the undisputed master of drum making and repair. He continues to innovate and take his products to new artistic heights, without ever compromising sound. Ibrahima travels regularly to Africa, from where he brings back materials, wood, skins and much more. He puts his heart and soul into his work, and is a treasure to all who admire his art.
